As usual, I wandered about Saturday morning and caught some scenes during my walk. The farmers' market is still going strong. I have yet to see corn, which is surprising this time of year. And, the tomatoes have been disappointing. I usually take a sniff and if the tomato smells good, I buy it. None of the tomatoes I picked up smelled of anything at all. Perhaps it is all the smoke in the air from the Canadian wildfires. Maybe my nose just isn't working right. I bought "tomatoes on the vine" at Jewel and they were just awful -- grainy with no flavor at all, despite the fact they smelled right. Next week I'll buy tomatoes at the farmers market no matter what, or go out to one of the roadside stands west of here. I want summer tomatoes and corn before summer is no longer here. Time goes way too quickly!
